Palmer Shatters World Record in Top Secret Attempt
Bethesda, Maryland
Just one year after setting the high school freshman burrito mile world record, and six days after completing the 4x8urrito in a solo effort, Andrew Palmer of Pwn3rs TC claimed the most coveted record of all. A select group of elite burrathletes arranged a top secret, unadvertised assault on the record books Friday night. Palmer ate his burrito in 1:30 and ran a 4:45 mile to break the previous world record of 6:37.49 by 22 seconds! Burritomile.com was on site to ensure proper sanctioning of the meet and confirms that a new world record was set at 6:15.71.

"This is for the US!" Palmer exclaimed after breaking the record.
The Frenchman Alex Prevost was trying to claim the record for France. It marked the first time in burrito mile history that international implications came in to play. Competing were representatives from the United States, Chile, France, Mexico, and Austria.
Prevost struggled to scarf down his burrito, but Nick Latourette came up big for the French. A non-runner, Latourette devoured his regulation-size Chipotle burrito in 52 seconds before running a 6:50 mile. His time of 7:42 was good for 3rd place.
Dylan Straughan of Chile also had a respectable showing, eating in about 2:32 and running a 4:45 mile for a 2nd place performance in 7:17.83.
