Athlete - $445.00
Commuter Athlete - $360.00 (includes lunch & dinner)
Coaches - $350.00/ commuter Coach- $265.00 (includes lunch/dinner)
(For every 3 athletes coach brings, take $100.00 off or bring 7 or
more athletes and coach is free and assigned duties.EX. If Coach brings
12 athletes, $400.00 is taken off. Extra given to coach for travel
expenses.)
Cost includes:
Instruction, 5 days housing, 3 all-you-can-eat meals daily, medical
supervision & insurance, bus transportation to training sites,
written evaluations, awards, 24 hour supervision and security, awesome
camp Dri Release shirt, water bottle, heavy duty athletic bag, running
log book, Sportstretch stretch rope, Clif Bars, Clif Shots and a great
week of training!!!
There will be a camp store for shoes, apparel, & accessories employed
by running shoe experts.
Eligibility:
Girls and boys entering grades 9-12. All coaches. Campers will be
grouped according to grade level and consideration to current fitness
level.
Make checks out to: High Performance Distance Academy. Confirmation
letter will be mailed upon receipt of the application.
All balances are due no later than 2 weeks prior to camp (June 16).
No exceptions. If balance hasn't been paid, the camp cannot guarantee
that camper availability in camp. A $30.00 fee applies to all returned
checks. |
The
focus for camp is training and is recommended for serious runners
only. All abilities are welcomed, the only requirement is the
desire to be better. Athletes should be prepared for training and
have run in the weeks prior to arrival. Besides training, athletes
will be instructed by collegiate coaches, health
professionals, and top athletes on motivation, nutrition, biomechanics,
weights and circuit training, goal setting, injury prevention, &
sports pychology.
Meb Keflezighi, the American 10K Record Holder, is a featured
speaker at the Academy. Experts, Olympians, NCAA National Champs.
Training Week:
Camp will include two-a- day runs, optional pool workout, circuits,
ply metrics and daily strength training. Runs will be over the
VT Cross Country course, Jefferson National Forest, surrounding VT
trails and the VT Track & Field facility, identical to the track
used in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. There will be free time
to rest, play volleyball, ultimate, or just talk to new friends. |

The camp is coed for ages 12-18.
Running will be on varied terrain around Millersville, with trips
to Lancaster Country Park and Mt. Gretna for trail runs. There is
1 counselor for every 10 campers. The University pools and other recreational
facilities are available. Speakers and videos are planned for evening
activities. The camp has been working with runners of all levels of
abilitiy for 25 years and has an extremely knowledgeable and experienced
staff of teachers/ coaches. |
